Bangalore day trip to countryside & dance village is a guided tour to the last surviving grasslands near Bangalore, the famous dance village of Nrityagram, Bangalore Palace and The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple. This Bangalore day trip is an all-inclusive trip where we take care of transport, breakfast & lunch, activities and the services of a full-time tour guide.

730 AM Grasslands- Our guide will meet and pick you up from your hotel to commence this Bangalore day trip. We visit the last surviving grasslands near Bangalore at Hesarghatta. It is a refreshing world of vast open spaces where you can see for miles. We will walk around over these plains and soak in the concept of open spaces.  It is a completely different world from the Bangalore we know, with farms, vineyards, birds, forests and grasslands, making this a refreshing change from the usual places to visit in Bangalore.

930 AM – Breakfast- Breakfast is organized in a rustic village resort set near the grasslands. The restaurant has a unique earthly ambiance.

We can indulge in some rural theme activities like bullock cart ride, pottery making and bicycle ride around the grasslands.

1030 AM Nrityagram- We visit Nrityagram, the famous dance village and India’s first modern gurukul during this Bangalore day trip. Set up by the famous dancer Protima Bedi, Nriyagram is a residential school  where students learn  Indian classical dance forms like Odissi, Mohiniattam, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali and Manipuri.  The pedagogy follows ancient Indian system of gurukuls and the schedule runs for 8 hours a day and 6 days a week for 7 years!

12 PM Lunch
3 PM Palace- The Bangalore Palace belonging to the Wodeyar Kings of Mysore is a majestic structure built in Tudor Style and our next halt in this Bangalore day trip. The Palace has fortified towers, battlements and turrets. Interiors look regal with elegant wood carvings, floral motifs, and relief paintings. With furniture in Edwardian and Victorian themes, the Bangalore Palace has a striking resemblance to the Windsor Castle of England. The audio tour provides a rich detail of the life and times of the Wodeyar Kings and their relationship with the British Empire.

430 PM ISKCON- The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is the last halt in this Bangalore day trip. It was founded in 1966 in New York City by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada  Its core beliefs are based on select traditional Hindu scriptures, particularly the Bhagavad-gītāand the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. ISKCON was formed to spread the practice of bhakti yoga, in which those involved dedicate their thoughts and actions towards pleasing Lord  Krishna.  ISKCON today is a worldwide confederation of more than 550 centres. We will visit the magnificent temple here located on a hill.
